So in these two pieces
I went for the old Warner Bros. noir lighting of the 1940's.
I did the color one first and then thought why not go all the way with glamorous black and white. There is a tight hot key light on the face. A soft distant light on the entire figure from the left front and on the right side of the picture and slightly to the back is a hot spot to give him dramatic backlighting.
